Medical Aesthetic trends for 2024
At Glamedix our philosophy has always been you are beautiful just as you are and
growing old is a privilege. As Generation X and Baby Boomers age there have been
more discussions around the pro-aging movement and how to address skin issues. A
big trend for 2024 is the shift away from injectables and focusing more on skin health.
Think of a healthy glow that reflects the natural beauty of aging rather than trying to
conceal it.
While some clients will always want their injectables, many are moving away from them
and are preferring to instead to focus on overall skin health. This is not the trend of the
last few years of the 10-15 multi-step skincare routines involving the use of numerous
products layered on top of each other twice a day. Not only is this routine expensive,
but in many cases totally ineffective and even be harmful. There is only so much your
skin can absorb at one time, and mixing multiple products can increase the risk of skin
irritation.
The new catch phase “skinimalism’ is all about putting skin care first, rather than
relying on makeup to conceal imperfections. Clients are investing more into easy to
follow minimalistic skincare routines and focusing on treatments like Morpheus8, Venus
Versa IPL photo facials, skin resurfacing and chemical peels. These treatments focus
on skin health and address issues like laxity, fine lines, pigmentation, texture and
overall brightness. Think dewy and luminous skin achieved with treatments paired with
medical grade hydrating serums and lightweight moisturizers.
Of course the number one preventative thing to do to keep your skin looking its best is
SPF. The sun is responsible for 80% of skin aging. At Glamedix we carry mineral based
sunscreens and as professionals we can’t stress enough the importance of daily
application. And as a side note, if you are mixing your sunscreen into serums and
moisturizers it will interfere with the sunscreens proper UV protection making it less
effective.
At Glamedix we would be happy to have a conversation and see what treatments and
effective skincare routines we can personalize just for you.
